Your role will ensure that major program development is planned and integrated across product lines. You will ensure that technical product strategies are developed and maintained using sound business and technology management practices and it supports business transformation by enabling new capabilities. This position may lead a small matrixed team of our customer employees, System Integrators, operational service providers, and consultants to implement large scale technologies that align with corporate business capabilities. You will participate in budget allocation, Operational Planning, and GRC testimony support. Typical scope of work focuses on very large ($100M+ annual scope) enterprise-wide transformation initiatives and will have responsibility for all stages of the system development life cycle, including analysis, estimation, design, evaluation, demonstration, construction, testing, implementation, and post-implementation support for their product lines. Will need to be able to flex between Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid Execution methods based on the needs of the initiative. During project execution, will be accountable for cost plans, invoices, unit estimates, and work orders. For Agile projects, will employ Agile metrics (Eg: velocity, burn rates) to evaluate the team’s performance and ensure customer is receiving the appropriate level of value for the fixed monthly capacity cost.

Key Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end development of new products from definition to implementation
Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners
Closely cooperate with our tech team on building the overall product roadmap, and manage prioritization and trade-offs against developer experience, customer experience, and time to market
Write product documents and ensure clear communication and coordination of requirements to the business, design and development teams

Lead the development of technical product strategies, roadmaps and on-going backlogs to ensure a prioritized needs are actively fed to engineering teams.
Collaborate across multiple product teams to ensure alignment and manage dependencies Coordinate and actively manage vendor partners, facilitate vendor mtgs, identify opportunities for POCs/POTs.
Assist in development of RFIs/RFPs, develop statements of work, and manage vendor performance.
Actively participate in the Operational planning Plan and engage and contribute to the GRC testimony.
Lead the development and periodic refresh of the strategic roadmap focused on the invest, sustain, and ringfence plan.
Partner with peer leadership, Prime and Sub partners within the program to ensure product strategy supports overall program commitments, resource & financial management and technical program schedule management.
Reviews and approves business cases for every program/ project that will help IT and the OU make educated decisions on their priority.
Accountable for financial management.
Works with OU partners and sponsors to set well defined business outcomes and tracks the business value realization at the completion of each project.
Partners with other leaders of IT (i.e. Architecture, Operations, Cybersecurity) to ensure that IT has capacity to meet the proposed timelines of each initiative.
Develops GRC testimony to support anticipated future spend and responds to data requests from ratepayer advocacy groups.
Participates in project governance committee meetings to review all proposed change requests to ensure requirements are aligned with business case and portfolio funds are available.
Serves as the first escalation point for risk management and issue remediation.
Acts as Product Manager for large and sophisticated initiatives while employing both Waterfall and Agile Methodologies depending on the project requirements, architecture, risks, and drivers.
Leads staffing activities to ensure the project teams have the right skills and capabilities.
Defines multiple options to introduce or mature business capabilities and understands the financial impact (total cost of ownership) of each solution architecture alternatives.

The Essentials

Ten (10) or more years of experience in Technical Program Management or large enterprise IT Project Management, leading successful implementation of projects against scope, timeline, and budget.
Eight (8) or more years of experience in product management, with a focus on design thinking, innovation
Seven (7) or more years of experience developing short, mid, and/or long-term technology strategies and roadmaps.
Experience mentoring and leading project teams, while maintaining lines of communication throughout organizational change.
Experience collaborating across multi-functional organizations, including C-level executives and business leaders.
Experience managing multiple vendors/ partners service contracts for third party software and IT resources for both projects and legacy application maintenance.
Experience with financial management and vendor management.
Experience with service engineering and architecture.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven and design thinking approach to decision-making.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and design thinking.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The Preferred
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business, Computing Information Systems, Computer Science, or relevant technical major.
Seven (7) or more years of experience in IT portfolio and customer relationship management.
Experience with SAP S4/HANA and/or SAP ecosystem applications (examples: Asset Manager, SuccessFactors, Ariba, ECC, EAM, Finance, etc..).
Experience working in Information Technology within the Utility Industry (electric, gas, or water…)
Seven (7) or more years of experience managing suppliers, service contracts, project metrics, and contracts to meet project objectives.
Ten (10) or more years of experience managing project quality, including quality assurance, metrics, and controls.
